SELF-INTRODUCTION

I was born and grew up in Shanghai. I like the color of the sky and sea. To me, life is an experience, so I would like to write articles and share my experience with others. I like reading, fine foods, music, history, etc.
I enjoy teaching, research and writing. My Chinese teaching experiences both in the US and China includes beginning-level and advanced-level language courses, culture course, as well as a Business Chinese course. My research interests are Chinese linguistics and Second Language Acquisition. The results have been published in some leading journals. I have also been a freelance writer in Chinese for close to ten years. I am deeply familiar with the social and cultural background of China.
As a teacher, researcher and writer, I regard language teaching as a social act embedded in both linguistic and social-cultural contexts. Employing a variety of teaching methods and technologies, I strive to develop a culturally and communicatively grounded classroom context.

I always think: Learning language is just like playing an amazing jigsaw puzzle and never too old to learn. Gradually you'll see the whole picture of the culture which the language carries, by yourself.
